Indirect Broadband Miniature Synthesizer from RFE

RFE has introduced a new Indirect Broadband Miniature Synthesizer module. This module is a low-cost, lightweight module suitable for both commercial and military environments.

The synthesizer covers the 0.5-20GHz spectrum in 1MHz steps. It uses COTS components (VCOs, pre-scalars, amplifiers, etc.) to eliminate hand tuning and keep to a compact size & weight.

The new synthesizer features:

  • Multi-Octave Microwave Source
  • Fast Tuning: <150 us Tuning Speed
  • 5 – 20 GHz Frequency Output
  • < -80dBm/Hz Phase Noise
  • 10 MHz External Reference
  • The smallest possible footprint: Only 3.0″ x 3.0″ x 0.53″.

The Indirect Broadband Miniature Synthesizer can be used for instrumentation testing, microwave radios, SIGINT, and more applications.
